Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting the effective management of procurement activities, supplier relationships, sourcing initiatives, and contract governance to ensure value delivery, compliance, and operational excellence across the business.The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, governance teams, architects, service managers, and procurement partners to drive sourcing outcomes, manage supplier performance, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance requirements.
Area: Contracts and Sourcing | Group Technology & Transformation
Support the delivery of procurement and sourcing activities across Old Mutual and its affiliate territories.
Manage supplier relationships and promote strategic engagement with key vendors.
Facilitate sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluation, supplier onboarding, and procurement governance processes.
Negotiate commercial terms, contract renewals, and supplier agreements in line with sourcing strategies and business requirements.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and supplier management frameworks.
Maintain accurate supplier and contract records, including contract values, renewal dates, notice periods, and service descriptions.
Drive supplier segmentation and supplier performance management activities.
Develop, maintain, and report on supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
Support supplier due diligence, risk assessments, and supplier rationalisation initiatives.
Provide procurement guidance and advisory support to business stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, process improvement, and operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather procurement requirements and ensure alignment to sourcing processes.
Monitor compliance risks and provide recommendations to mitigate commercial and vendor-related risks.
Produce management information and reporting relating to procurement, sourcing, and supplier performance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement, sourcing, contract management, and accounts payable processes.
Promote an integrated supply chain approach by engaging key stakeholders across the organisation.
Support business development and strategic sourcing opportunities where required.
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Legal, or a related field will be advantageous.
Minimum 3 years' experience within a procurement, sourcing, or supply chain environment
Experience within a financial services company, will be advantageous
Experience in technology procurement, including the sourcing, negotiation and management of technology-related contracts, will be advantageous
Proven experience delivering results within a procurement and sourcing function.
Experience managing supplier relationships, supplier performance, and commercial engagements.
Demonstrated experience in sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier governance.
Strong understanding of procurement policies, governance requirements, and procurement best practices.
Experience reviewing, interpreting, and applying procurement requirements and standards.
Knowledge of contract management principles and supplier agreement administration.
Experience managing third-party suppliers and vendor relationships.
Experience within a large corporate, outsourced, or off-shored delivery environment will be advantageous.
Knowledge of project management methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and drive issues through to resolution.
Process-oriented, with the ability to establish, improve, and maintain procurement processes and controls.
Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meet demanding deadlines.
Highly organised, structured, and detail-oriented.
