Senior Manager – GEO Strategy & Operations, RDBU & Global
What you will do
The Senior Manager of GEO Strategy & Operations, RDBU & Global (GCCI) orchestrates Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy and activation across the RDBU and Global brand portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Director responsible for the enterprise GEO operating model, this role translates enterprise priorities and standards into coordinated action across brands, functions, GEO platforms, agencies, and external partners.
The Senior Manager serves as the primary GEO partner for the portfolio, works directly in assigned platforms, leads recurring cross-functional reviews, translates GEO findings into marketing and communications actions, and ensures follow-through across global, regional, and affiliate teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Strategy & Coordination: Translate enterprise GEO strategy into clear priorities for RDBU and Global brands, align stakeholders around the highest-value opportunities, and escalate cross-portfolio decisions to the Associate Director.
- GEO Activation: Use GEO platform and partner outputs to identify opportunities and translate findings into actions across marketing, content, digital experiences, communications, and source authority.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate Marketing, Medical, Corporate Communications, Decision Sciences, Digital, Content, Legal/Regulatory, regional, and affiliate stakeholders to align decisions and drive actions to completion.
- Platform & Partner Management: Coordinate GEO work across assigned platforms, agencies, and external partners; monitor quality and timeliness; and connect deliverables to business priorities and actions.
- Operating Model Adoption: Apply enterprise GEO processes, governance, standards, and measurement across the portfolio; share learnings with the Associate Director and USBO GEO lead; and recommend practical improvements.
Key Activities:
- Coordinate GEO priorities and planned activity across RDBU and Global brands based on enterprise direction, brand needs, and available capacity.
- Work directly in assigned GEO platforms and agency-supported workflows to review findings, identify business implications, and initiate follow-up actions.
- Lead recurring cross-functional GEO reviews, align decisions and owners, document actions, and follow through on delivery and escalations.
- Partner with brand and functional teams to incorporate GEO recommendations into global-to-local marketing plans, content, digital experiences, launch readiness, and market adaptation.
- Partner with Decision Sciences to interpret GEO reporting, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for optimization across brands and markets.
- Manage routine platform and agency activity, including inputs, deliverables, timelines, quality, knowledge transfer, and escalation of scope or resource needs.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing, Digital Strategy, Commercial Operations, Decision Sciences, or related experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing, Digital Strategy, Commercial Operations, Decision Sciences, or related experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing, Digital Strategy, Commercial Operations, Decision Sciences, or related experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Marketing, Digital Strategy, Commercial Operations, Decision Sciences, or related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing, Digital Strategy, Commercial Operations, Decision Sciences, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading global, regional, or multi-market pharmaceutical marketing, digital, omnichannel, content, commercial operations, or transformation initiatives.
- Working understanding of AI-powered search, GEO and SEO principles, content structure, and digital discoverability.
- Experience working directly in digital, search, or marketing technology platforms and translating findings into clear marketing and business actions.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills across global, regional, and affiliate stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Experience integrating new digital or marketing capabilities into global-to-local brand planning, content development, launch, and market adaptation workflows.
- Experience managing agencies, technology vendors, or strategic partners, with strong communication and change-leadership skills.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
