Are you creative, energetic, and passionate about enriching the lives of older adults? Join our team as an Activity Assistant and help create engaging programs and events that promote social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being for residents in our assisted living community.
In this role, you'll support the planning and delivery of activities that help residents stay active, connected, and engaged while contributing to a positive and welcoming environment.
What You'll Do
As an Activity Assistant, you will:
- Assist with planning, organizing, implementing, and leading recreational and social activities for assisted living residents
- Develop and maintain engaging monthly activity calendars
- Conduct resident visits and provide assistance with crafts, games, projects, and other activities
- Support community events, celebrations, outings, and special programs
- Coordinate transportation requests for resident field trips and excursions
- Create flyers, newsletters, event invitations, and promotional materials
- Distribute activity calendars, newsletters, and other resident communications
- Maintain accurate activity documentation, assessments, and progress notes
- Track department expenditures and assist with budget-related reporting
- Participate on community committees and contribute ideas for resident programming
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that respects individual backgrounds, preferences, and interests
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Compassionate, resident-focused approach with a passion for serving older adults
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or a related field
- Experience in recreational programming, resident activities, healthcare, assisted living, senior living, or a related setting
- Eligibility for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activity Professional
- Completion of the Georgia Health Care Association Activity Director Course
- Occupational Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapist experience

Work Environment
