• Job Overview:
The Import Specialist Mexico will be responsible for ensuring the proper management, monitoring, and governance of import processes for the Personal Health Care category in Mexico, with a strong focus on import sanitary permits before COFEPRIS via the Single Window for Foreign Trade. This role requires technical knowledge to anticipate risks, resolve deviations, and guarantee that documentation, permits, classifications, and regulatory requirements are aligned with Mexican legislation and internal business standards.
• Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily the validity of import permits and timely follow-up on renewals or new permit requests.
- Coordinate information gathering with internal areas such as regulatory, supply, and category to ensure sanitary registrations and supporting documentation are up to date.
- Review accuracy, completeness, and quality of documentation before submission or upload to regulatory platforms.
- Provide daily visibility to the category on risks, progress, expirations, authority delays, and potential operational impacts.
- Support analysis related to import taxes, tariff classification, rules of origin, free trade agreements, and regulatory changes impacting the Mexico market.
- Oversee third-party or vendor performance involved in management of procedures, monitoring KPIs, action plans, and remediation when gaps exist.
Job Qualifications
• Hard Skills:
Expertise in import sanitary permits management before COFEPRIS.
Knowledge of the Single Window for Foreign Trade and related COFEPRIS modules; other platform modules are a plus.
Understanding of tariff classification, HTS, duties, rules of origin, and free trade agreements applicable to Mexican imports.
• Soft Skills:
Strong technical judgment and attention to detail.
Analytical mindset oriented to KPIs, continuous improvement, and automation.
Effective coordination and communication skills with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Nice to Have Skills:
Knowledge of Power BI, Copilot, and automation tools.
Certifications or courses related to foreign trade, customs, sanitary regulation, tariff classification, or imports.
