Uncommon Orthodontics is looking for a dependable, organized, and energetic Sterilization Technician to join our orthodontic team! This role is essential to keeping our office running safely and efficiently by ensuring instruments, treatment areas, and clinical supplies are properly cleaned, sterilized, prepared, and ready for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments

  • Follow all OSHA, CDC, infection-control, and office safety standards

  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to manufacturer guidelines

  • Complete required sterilization logs, testing, and documentation

  • Prepare instrument setups and supplies for scheduled procedures

  • Turn over and disinfect treatment chairs and clinical areas between patients

  • Monitor sterilization supplies and communicate restocking needs

  • Keep the sterilization area clean, organized, and fully functional

  • Assist with laundry, supply organization, and general clinical support

  • Help maintain smooth patient flow by anticipating the clinical team’s needs

  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all office protocols

  • Support orthodontic assistants and other team members as needed

  • Travel between the Joplin and Nevada, MO clinics will be required.

  • Adapts to shifting practice priorities by handling additional responsibilities as requested by the Practice Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
