JOB SUMMARY Supply Tech is responsible for pulling and delivering supplies to clean utilities and patient rooms on a schedule as assigned. Most supply areas use a two bin Kanban system to ensure supplies are ordered and stored where they are used. They are responsible for ensuring the storage areas are neat, tidy, stocked and fully functioning. They work with and support Blue Bin stage operations team in the warehouse and support strider team moving supplies to specific locations. 

 

These roles support supply chain standard work processes #3000, #3001 and #3002 

  

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY       

Reports to: Supply Chain Supervisor 

Supervises:  none 

Key Working Relationships: Supply Techs Clinicians, and Department leadership leads 

Primary Customer Groups Internal/ External service customers and hospital staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   

Counts pulls and fills linen requisitions using proper technology and process  

Completes and follow Kanban standard work for operating procedures #3000 Replenishing Blue bin technology, #3001 Blue bin Stage operation, and #3002 The art of filling Blue bins 

Follows the empty Blue Bin returns process by pulling away all returns to original locations. 

Demonstrates an understanding of how stage operation works and the Supply Tech 1 role in that operation. 

Demonstrates teamwork/cooperation in providing services to direct/indirect customers 

Keeps Supervisor and team leads informed of pertinent information related to job duties and the completion of scheduled work, pulling the andon when assistance is required 

Fosters an environment of PDCA in their daily work activities. Support of PEX activities and lean training 

Meets productivity /work standards while demonstrating competency in job skills and knowledge by completing scheduled work in allotted timeframe 

Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations. 

Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. 

Takes an active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth and development, and participates in medical center and/or departmental education programs.

Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment.

Assist with answering phone for customer requests 

Assist with other distribution related task, such as making deliveries 

Assist delivery drivers with preparing carts and loading and unloading trucks 

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education [formal]:  High School diploma or certificate preferred  

 

Experience:   

None required 

 

Special Skills and Competencies:  

Must be dependable and able to work flexible hours 

Must be able to plan and organize work duties and be alert to safety hazards. 

Must be able to work with team to accomplish goals 

Requires flexibility, weekend and holiday shifts.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.

Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
