Software Developer | Brooklyn, NY · $65k–$80k
About the Role:
This role owns the backend systems that automate loan application processing and the broader lending workflow for a finance company. The developer will build and maintain the tools that keep applications moving, troubleshoot issues in live systems, and work directly with the databases that hold core business data, while also automating processes and applying AI where it can improve how work gets done. It's a hands-on engineering seat with real ownership over how funding gets processed.
Key Responsibilities
Development
- Build and maintain backend systems that process loan applications
- Help develop new systems to support the funding process
- Write, test, and debug code for internal tools
Automation & AI
- Identify and build opportunities to automate manual processes
- Apply AI tools and techniques to improve internal systems
Systems & Data
- Troubleshoot issues in live, running systems
- Work with databases and structured business data
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with other developers
Qualifications
- Prior professional experience as a software developer
