- Plan and administer comprehensive and diversified recreation programs, special events and athletics for all ages, abilities, and interests.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of athletic programs and make recommendations for improvements.

- Develop goals, objectives, and procedures for special event programs and athletics at the Community Centers.
|
- Resolve disputes equitably and with impartiality.
|
- Promote a positive recreation environment.
|
- Enforce safety standards.
|
- Communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
|
- Provide supervision, leadership, training, and direction for temporary staff, coaches, and volunteers.
|
- Assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
|
- Manage multiple programs and perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed.
|
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, all levels of City management, community officials, volunteer groups, athletic organizations, local schools, and public that use the City’s facilities.

- Deal tactfully and courteously with customers and provide effective customer service.

- Utilize a variety of communication and interpersonal skills to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals both inside and outside the organization.

- Read contracts, service agreements, papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, and policies.

- Make mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions.

- Collect program fees and receipt payments.
|
- Write reports, prepare business letters, summarize meeting minutes, and compose emails in a clear and professional manner.

- Work a schedule requiring non-traditional workdays.
|
- Drive a City vehicle between facilities as well as haul supplies.
|
- Operate general office equipment to include scanner, printer, copier, telephone, fax machine, and computer with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Utilize specialized software and systems to include recreation program registration and facility rental software.
