Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Human Capital Officer to provide operational and strategic Human Capital support across the business. Reporting to the Human Capital Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening workforce capability, employee engagement, compliance and organisational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will bring strong HR generalist expertise, labour relations knowledge, stakeholder management skills and a sound understanding of South African employment legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with management on workforce planning, recruitment, selection and talent management.
- Coordinate recruitment processes while ensuring alignment with Employment Equity objectives and Human Capital policies.
- Support the implementation of Employment Equity and transformation plans and assist with statutory reporting.
- Advise managers on disciplinary matters, grievances, incapacity, misconduct and poor performance processes.
- Support CCMA, Bargaining Council and Labour Court matters where required.
- Ensure consistent application of labour legislation, company policies and collective agreements.
- Drive performance management processes, development planning and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support organisational restructuring, transformation and change management projects.
- Conduct Human Capital audits, compliance reviews and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist with employee, payroll and Human Capital queries.
- Prepare and analyse Human Capital reports, headcount information and key people metrics.
- Provide management with actionable insights relating to turnover, succession planning, performance and workforce trends.
- Support leadership development, employee engagement and organisational capability initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
- 5–8 years' Human Resources generalist experience.
- Experience within a unionised manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, logistics or industrial environment will be advantageous.
- Proven experience in employee and labour relations, organisational development, change management and talent management.
- Strong knowledge of South African employment legislation and Employment Equity requirements.
- Experience dealing with disciplinary processes, grievances and employee relations matters.
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High levels of integrity, resilience, business acumen and results orientation.
