The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Behind every successful underwriting organization is a team focused on improving processes, enabling better decisions, and driving strategic initiatives that support profitable growth.
As an Underwriting Business Operations Strategy Co-op, you'll work alongside underwriting leaders and business partners to support projects that shape the future of a underwriting business. You'll gain exposure to commercial insurance operations while helping solve real business challenges related to process improvement, training, authority management, reporting, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
During this six-month co-op experience, you'll have the opportunity to research business challenges, analyze current processes, gather stakeholder feedback, evaluate solutions, and help drive projects from concept through implementation.
By the end, you'll have a deeper understanding of the commercial insurance industry and the critical role business operations and strategy play in enabling underwriting success.
Qualifications
What you’ve got
- You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Business, or comparable with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- You have 0-2 years of professional experience.
- You possess strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiating skills.
- You have solid interpersonal skills and demonstrate a passion for customer service.
- You must be able to work full-time from January - July 2027.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future. We will not sponsor employment visas. Candidates who will require future sponsorship, including those on CPT/OPT/STEM OPT who will require future sponsorship, are not eligible to apply.
