As part of Pfizer Germany’s Strategic Roadmap 2030, ATTR Amyloidosis is a dedicated Therapeutic Area and a key strategic pillar. Mirroring the new Commercial Specialty Care organization wherever compliant and meaningful, Medical Affairs will play a critical role in strengthening Pfizer’s position in ATTR Amyloidosis through scientific leadership, evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and medical innovation.

Pfizer has pioneered the ATTR-CM treatment landscape and transformed the disease from a largely unrecognized rare condition into an increasingly established diagnosis. This role will build on that foundation to advance earlier diagnosis, enable timely treatment and shape the rapidly evolving ATTR amyloidosis landscape.

Medical Affairs ATTR Amyloidosis serves as the scientific engine of the Specialty Care organization: translating pioneering science into meaningful impact for patients, healthcare professionals, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. Through evidence generation, scientific communication, trusted partnerships and responsible AI-enabled ways of working, Medical Affairs in ATTR Amyloidosis contributes to improving disease awareness, diagnosis rates and to strengthen our scientific leadership position in Cardiology in Germany. The success of Medical in ATTR Amyloidosis is reflected in the generation and communication of high-quality evidence, scientific leadership, stakeholder trust, longstanding trust amongst cross-functional Pfizer partners and scientific support of business development in Rare Cardiology.

This is a visible leadership role that combines scientific credibility, strategic thinking, organizational transformation, people leadership, and external influence to advance and strengthen Pfizer’s leadership in Specialty Care.

What You'll Shape

Strategy & Vision

• Define the multi-year Medical Affairs strategy for ATTR Amyloidosis in Germany, aligned with the Strategic Roadmap 2030, country medical priorities, global Specialty Care strategy and local needs.

• Further strengthen Medical Affairs ATTR Amyloidosis’ long-standing position as a trusted scientific partner for healthcare professionals, scientific societies, policy makers, regulatory institutions and cross-functional Pfizer partners.

• Sharpen and extend the medical impact narrative for ATTR-CM that complements the Commercial Specialty Care ambition while maintaining clear medical independence, scientific integrity and compliance boundaries.

• Lead the medical strategy for the tafamidis tablet launch in Germany and proactively navigate the evolving competitive landscape by translating global evidence, competitor developments and local stakeholder insights into differentiated, compliant scientific priorities that reinforce tafamidis as the established first-line therapy in ATTR-CM.

Ecosystem Leadership

• Extend the trusted partnerships across the evolving ATTR Amyloidosis ecosystem, including HCPs, KOLs, patient organizations, professional societies, payers, policy makers, public-health institutions, digital-health stakeholders and academic networks.

• Shape the ATTR Amyloidosis landscape in Germany through engagement with scientific societies and relevant healthcare decision-makers, within applicable compliance standards, and strengthen Pfizer’s position as a trusted scientific partner to accelerate earlier diagnosis, strengthen coordinated care pathways and enable evidence-based, patient-centered treatment decisions.

• Use systematic insight generation to translate healthcare-system needs, patient-journey gaps and stakeholder perspectives into actionable medical priorities.

Scientific Leadership, Evidence Generation & Clinical Studies

• Own the ATTR Amyloidosis Medical Plan and integrated evidence strategy, ensuring alignment with global priorities and local health care requirements.

• Lead generation, interpretation and communication of scientific evidence, including real-world evidence, epidemiology, investigator-sponsored research, medical education and Amyloidosis-related activities where applicable.

• Collaborate with global medical, clinical development, health economics and outcomes research, access, regulatory and commercial colleagues to ensure local insights inform, within applicable compliance boundaries, brand strategy development to maximize scientific, patient and healthcare-system impact.

• Utilize advanced analytics, AI-enabled insight synthesis and innovative evidence-generation approaches to accelerate scientific impact and support healthcare-system decision-making.

• Ensure that medical insights are captured and translated into actions that advance earlier diagnosis, disease monitoring and evidence-based treatment decisions, while addressing evidence gaps across the evolving treatment landscape.

• Lead compliant scientific communication, medical education and publication activities that reinforce tafamidis’ clinical profile, accelerate earlier diagnosis and address ATTR-CM knowledge gaps.

• Closely collaborate with GSSO on future clinical study execution in Germany, including Country Outreach, support study-site identification and contribution to study-site recruitment based on local scientific and healthcare-system insights.

Launch Excellence

• Lead the Medical launch of the tafamidis tablet and potential future innovations.

• Ensure scientific preparedness of Medical Affairs and Field Medical teams for the tafamidis tablet launch and lifecycle management by translating global long-term clinical and real-world evidence, patient-preference data and critical appraisal of emerging treatment data into compliant, differentiated scientific engagement.

• Drive scientific differentiation through rigorous evidence generation, strong medical storytelling and high-quality external scientific engagement.

Market Access  

• Participate in strategic planning and provide medical/scientific support for the development of market access strategies for the tafamidis tablet.

Leadership & Talent

• Be a strategic partner to the Marketing Director Vyndaqel and the Sales Director Vyndaqel.

• Further strengthen and evolve the high-performing ATTR Amyloidosis Medical team across office-based and Field Medical roles.

• Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation, continuous learning, collaboration and psychological safety.

What You'll Bring

Experience

• Medical Affairs leadership experience, preferably in Amyloidosis.

• Experience in evidence generation, scientific engagement, launch excellence, and lifecycle management. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive change.

• Strong understanding of the German Amyloidosis landscape, including stakeholders, policy, and access.

• Clinical study collaboration experience is an advantage.

Scientific & Technical Expertise

• Medical degree, pharmacy degree, PhD or equivalent advanced scientific qualification required.

• People-management experience, including direct team leadership, is preferred.

• Strong scientific credibility and Medical Affairs expertise, with the ability to engage external experts confidently.

• Good understanding of clinical research, real-world evidence, medical governance, healthcare systems, and regulatory requirements.

• Comfort with digital and AI-enabled ways of working, including critical review of AI-generated outputs in a regulated setting.

• Fluent business and medical English.

• German (native or C1-level) mandatory.
