About the role

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will own the end-to-end "Out of the Box" experience for Dyson's connected product portfolio. Your core focus will be engineering seamless device-to-app pairing solutions via the Dyson Link app, alongside designing and building high-performance APIs and microservices. Operating with good autonomy, you will champion technical excellence while actively mentoring and coaching junior engineers to foster team growth

You will be using Node.js, C# or whatever is right for the job - to run in containers or as serverless functions within the AWS cloud. You will be responsible for features from inception to delivery, ensuring that all software produced is to the highest standard. You will be working collaboratively with the team in paired programming and mobbing sessions to ensure that we deliver the right solution for the problem at hand.

The team follow agile methodologies and are keen to ensure that the latest and best practices for software development are followed; all team members are encouraged to contribute to these evolving standards.


You'll be doing:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy microservice and serverless applications on AWS.
  • Monitor, measure, and investigate production issues and lead issues to closure
  • Understand integration with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Build and manage end to end ETL pipelines for data ingestion from disparate sources
  • Build data rollups and data structures aligned with data analysis requirements
  • Develop and deploy dashboards using Tableau (other BI tools) to facilitate data analysis and reporting.
  • Working in team-based development sessions to share knowledge and responsibilities
  • Actively mentoring and coaching junior engineers
  • Encouraged to learn new technologies and skills as part of continuous growth

You’ll have:

  • Sound foundation in Cloud Architecture and Development
  • Working experience with cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Working experience with Docker or other virtualisation tools
  • Knowledgeable in cloud-native technologies: microservices, serverless computing, containers, APIs.
  • Good hands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery techniques and tools.
  • Good knowledge in Tableau and other BI tools
  • Good Knowledge in DotNet Core or NodeJS development
  • Experience in building production quality software
  • Exposure to or hands on knowledge with automated testing (Unit / Integration)
  • Familiarity with Agile working practices
  • Outstanding communication skills
