Senior Supply Chain Analyst

Description

The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of assigned materials and product categories. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and terms, monitors supply continuity and delivery performance, and identifies opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall supply chain performance.

Job Responsibilities

· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including supplier selection, pricing, lead times, capacity, quality, and supply-risk considerations. 

· Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other commercial terms to support cost, quality, and service objectives. 

· Prepare bid packages, solicit and evaluate supplier quotations, and execute purchases with significant financial or operational impact. 

· Track purchase orders, supplier commitments, lead times, and delivery performance; coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and internal stakeholders to ensure material availability. 

· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and address issues related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. 

· Identify, escalate, and help resolve supply disruptions, material shortages, quality concerns, and other risks that could impact operations or customers. 

· Partner with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to resolve nonconforming material issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. 

· Support cost-reduction, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

· Analyze spend, inventory, supplier performance, and purchasing data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. 

· Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, pricing, and lead-time data within the ERP system and related tools. 

· Work directly with Operations and cross-functional teams to support production plans, new-product requirements, and customer needs. 

· Provide guidance and support to less experienced supply chain or purchasing team members, as needed.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

· Five or more years of progressive procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. 

· Experience sourcing manufactured components; experience with castings, stampings, electrical components, and wire assemblies preferred. 

· Demonstrated experience negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements. 

· Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Access or other reporting/database tools is a plus. 

· Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, bills of material, and documented procedures. 

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities accurately and with urgency. 

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with suppliers and cross-functional internal teams.

· APICS CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) or equivalent certification preferred.
