WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Supervise the development and implementation of effective recruitment plans and programs and provide support to staff to achieve established monthly, quarterly and annual blood collection goals. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all Account Manager functions within assigned jurisdiction to ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual recruitment goals of their territory and their assigned direct report territories.

  • Supervise the implementation of recruitment plans and programs among assigned staff to ensure achievement of collection goals for their assigned direct report areas. Serve as a creative and operational resource to assigned direct report Account Managers to assure consistent and effective implementation of recruitment plan.

  • Ensure the implementation of region, division and national recruitment programs designed to meet particular needs (e.g., blood type distribution, holidays, etc.) for their assigned direct report areas and ensure the availability of blood products when and where they are needed.

  • Develop and supervise assigned direct report staff in accordance with human resources policies, including performance management and evaluations, disciplinary actions, and hiring decisions, to enhance success of operations and minimize turnover. Develop and mentor assigned direct report staff to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, American Red Cross Blood Services directives, the Code of Federal Regulation and other regulatory requirements.

  • Assist management in developing overall annual and long-term recruitment plans with attendant strategies and methods for implementation for their assigned direct reports areas.

  • Serve as point of contact in the absence of the District Manager, including attending Management meetings, running weekly or daily sales calls. Serve as secondary approver for Time Cards, Purchase and Travel cards, as needed.

  • Assist in coordination and management of monthly team meetings and booking meetings. Assist in gathering needed information from assigned direct report Account Managers for weekly calls, production meetings and gathering projections. May also be required to attend calls outside of normal business hours.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications or related field; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience required. Successful performance as an Account Manager preferred.

Management Experience: 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Knowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs preferred. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively required. Excellent oral and written communications skills, including training and presentation skills required. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions required.  Must have the ability to work independently while developing a functioning team among subordinates. A current valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Travel: May be required to travel to sites throughout the Red Cross organization. 

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000, plus incentive.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
