Where you come in:
- You lead and mentor a small team of developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality, well-documented code that meets established standards.
- You design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software applications using Python or JavaScript, with a strong focus on event-driven architectures.
- You champion coding standards, best practices, and deployment processes, driving initiatives that improve code quality, security posture, and overall development efficiency.
- You design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software releases.
- You contribute to the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- You collaborate closely with Marketing and other non-IT business partners, translating their needs into technical requirements and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- You partner with vendors to optimize platform utilization and advocate assertively for the services and outcomes Dexcom needs.
- You collaborate with and help manage teams in overseas locations, and you anticipate potential problems, proactively implementing solutions before issues arise.
What makes you successful:
- You bring 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years leading small development teams.
- You have strong proficiency in either Python or JavaScript-experience with both is highly desirable.
- Your background includes hands-on experience with event-driven architectures.
- You have proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines on cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
- You have experience working with and managing overseas teams, and collaborating with Marketing and other non-IT business partners.
- You bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- You are proficient working within a JIRA-centric workflow and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Nice to have: Experience with specific GCP or AWS services (e.g., serverless functions), frameworks relevant to your language (e.g., React, Node.js, Django, Flask), and security best practices and tools.

Experience and Education Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Master’s degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
Remote Workplace:
- Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
