Job Description:

The Technical Director, Enterprise Architecture is responsible for defining and governing FormFactor's enterprise technology architecture, application strategy, integration standards, and modernization roadmap. The role serves as the senior technical authority for enterprise business systems and partners with business and IT leaders to ensure technology investments align with strategic objectives, operational requirements, and long-term growth plans.

The Technical Director establishes architecture standards, guides solution design, drives technology innovation, and ensures enterprise platforms are scalable, secure, integrated, and supportable. The position is software agnostic in scope while requiring deep expertise across FormFactor's hybrid Oracle application ecosystem, including on-premises and cloud solutions. Oracle database administration is outside the scope of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Governance

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, decision frameworks, and governance processes across business applications, integrations, data platforms, cloud services, and emerging technologies.

• Develop target-state architectures and multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy, operating priorities, and investment plans.

• Directly manage and lead the Oracle ERP AMS team responsible for the lifecycle execution, deployment, and optimization of FormFactor's hybrid Oracle application landscape and other associated core business platforms.

• Lead architecture review boards, release management, steering committees, and cross-functional governance forums to drive transparent decisions, executive alignment, and accountable execution.

• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, approved project delivery methodologies, IT change governance, cybersecurity requirements, and SOX controls.

• Identify architectural risk, technical debt, lifecycle concerns, and platform dependencies, and establish practical remediation plans.

• Identify, architect, and lead the structural framework for deploying Enterprise GenAI applications, intelligent automation pipelines, and predictive model hosting initiatives within the corporate ERP and supply chain fabric to accelerate time-to-market.

Business Capability & Solution Architecture

• Partner with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Trade Compliance, and other business functions to translate business capabilities and process needs into sustainable technology solutions.

• Provide technical direction for major programs and solution designs, balancing business value, user experience, scalability, security, reliability, supportability, and total cost of ownership.

• Promote process simplification, common capabilities, reusable services, and standardized technology patterns across the enterprise.

• Guide make, buy, modernize, integrate, and retire decisions across the enterprise application portfolio.

Oracle Enterprise Application Architecture

• Serve as FormFactor's senior architecture authority for the Oracle enterprise application ecosystem, excluding Oracle database administration.

• Provide architectural leadership across hybrid Oracle platforms, including Oracle E-Business Suite and related Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Order Management, WMS, and ASCP capabilities, as well as cloud solutions such as GTM, CPQ, EPBCS, OAC, OIC, and other adopted Oracle services.

• Define application boundaries, integration approaches, extension strategies, customization guardrails, environment patterns, and lifecycle roadmaps across Oracle platforms.

• Evaluate Oracle product roadmaps and recommend future-state architecture strategies that support business priorities while reducing complexity, risk, and technical debt.

• Ensure Oracle solutions integrate effectively with non-Oracle platforms such as MES, PLM, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft technologies, analytics platforms, and other enterprise systems.

Integration Architecture & Technology Standards

• Define enterprise integration strategy and common standards for APIs, middleware, event-driven services, EDI, batch interfaces, file exchange, and data movement.

• Guide architecture teams in designing system integrations and ensuring solutions follow company technology standards and proven practices.

• Promote reusable integration services, consistent monitoring, secure data exchange, error handling, and end-to-end operational supportability.

• Ensure integrations support reliable business processing across ERP, manufacturing, supply chain, planning, analytics, and corporate platforms.

Application Portfolio, Modernization & Cloud Strategy

• Establish lifecycle strategies for enterprise applications and identify opportunities for rationalization, consolidation, modernization, and retirement.

• Lead hybrid-cloud and SaaS architecture planning, including migration sequencing, interoperability, security, operating-model impacts, and business continuity.

• Evaluate new platforms and technology investments using business fit, architectural alignment, implementation risk, vendor viability, and total cost of ownership.

• Drive modernization strategies that improve agility, resiliency, usability, supportability, and speed of business change.

AI, Automation & Process Innovation

• Identify and lead opportunities to use AI, intelligent automation, predictive capabilities, and digital workflows to improve decision-making, process effectiveness, and employee productivity.

• Establish architecture standards and governance for responsible integration of AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications and business processes.

• Partner with business and technology teams to prioritize use cases, validate business value, and develop scalable implementation roadmaps.

• Promote automation and architecture reuse that reduce manual work, improve control effectiveness, and accelerate delivery.

Data & Analytics Enablement

• Partner with data and analytics leaders to ensure enterprise architecture supports trusted, secure, accessible, and well-integrated information across platforms.

• Enable advanced analytics and AI by supporting consistent data flows, traceability, governed access, and clear ownership of enterprise information.

• Ensure application and integration designs support enterprise reporting, planning, operational analytics, and future data-driven capabilities.

Leadership, Stakeholder & Partner Management

• Lead and develop enterprise, solution, application, and integration architects, establishing clear accountabilities and consistent architecture practices.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and business partners on technology strategy, architecture decisions, investment priorities, risks, and tradeoffs.

• Provide architecture oversight for strategic vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including review of designs, deliverables, and roadmap alignment.

• Build effective partnerships across Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, PMO, Internal Audit, and business functions.

• Oversee critical lifecycle infrastructure initiatives, ensuring seamless alignment and coordination with the DBA team for core system patching and upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:

• Progressive experience in enterprise applications, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, systems integration, or technology leadership.

• Experience leading architects, technical leaders, or enterprise technology teams in a complex global environment.

• Experience leading global enterprise application delivery teams, solution architects, and functional leads in a matrixed corporate framework

• Proven experience establishing enterprise architecture standards, governance processes, technology roadmaps, and target-state architectures.

• Demonstrated success leading large-scale application modernization, integration, cloud, or digital transformation initiatives.

• Experience architecting solutions across Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Trade Compliance, Analytics, and other core enterprise functions.

• Strong experience with enterprise integrations, middleware, APIs, data movement, SaaS platforms, and hybrid-cloud architectures.

• Experience operating within SOX-controlled environments and partnering with Cybersecurity, Risk, Internal Audit, and PMO organizations.

• Experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or another complex global manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

• Extensive hands-on architecture experience across Oracle enterprise applications in complex, integrated production environments.

• Deep knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite, including Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Order Management, WMS, ASCP, and related application architecture.

• Significant experience with Oracle cloud applications and services such as GTM, CPQ, EPBCS, OAC, OIC, or comparable Oracle SaaS and PaaS capabilities.

• Proven ability to develop roadmaps for hybrid Oracle environments spanning on-premises and cloud platforms.

• Strong understanding of Oracle application integrations, extensions, configurations, customizations, reporting, security dependencies, and modernization options.

• Experience evaluating Oracle product direction and translating vendor roadmaps into practical enterprise architecture recommendations.

• Enterprise architecture strategy, business capability alignment, solution governance, and application portfolio management.

• Architecture leadership across ERP, manufacturing, supply chain, planning, analytics, SaaS, cloud, and integration platforms.

• Executive communication, structured decision-making, stakeholder alignment, influence, and negotiation.

• Ability to simplify complex technical issues and communicate risks, options, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.

• Strong financial judgment related to technology investments, licensing, vendor proposals, implementation cost, and total cost of ownership.

• Ability to lead through influence across global, cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Proven track record in orchestrating cross-functional DBA operations and managing the end-to-end execution of complex patch setups and environment stability.

Pay Range:

$183,400.00 - $240,765.00

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $183,400.00 and $240,765.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You’ll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
