Caregiver – $26–$28/hr | Mon–Fri, 11AM–7PM | Shelton/Harstine Island

Family Best Care is hiring an experienced, reliable caregiver for an ongoing in-home care assignment on Harstine Island in the Shelton, Washington area.

This role offers a consistent weekday schedule providing one-on-one care for a client with memory care needs. We are looking for someone who is patient, observant, and comfortable supporting daily routines, providing reassurance, and responding calmly when the client’s needs change.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
• 40 scheduled hours per week
• Ongoing client assignment
• Applicants must be available for the complete Monday–Friday schedule. Shift times are based on the client’s care needs and must be worked as assigned.

Location

• The client is located on Harstine Island in the Shelton, Washington area
• Applicants should review the location before applying and confirm they can reliably commute to and from the client’s home each day
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and consistent attendance are required

Care Responsibilities

• Provide memory care support, companionship, and meaningful engagement
• Offer calm reassurance and gentle redirection as needed
• Help maintain consistent daily routines
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene as needed
• Support safe mobility, transfers, and fall prevention according to the care plan
• Prepare meals and encourage appropriate hydration and nutrition
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition, behavior, or care needs
• Complete light housekeeping related to the client’s care
• Follow the care plan and complete accurate, timely documentation
• Communicate concerns and updates to the office promptly

The Ideal Caregiver

• Has prior professional caregiving experience
• Has memory care experience or is comfortable supporting a client with memory care needs
• Is calm, patient, attentive, and consistent
• Uses clear, respectful communication and maintains professional boundaries
• Recognizes changes or concerns and knows when to contact the office
• Follows the care plan and accepts care direction professionally
• Arrives on time and remains for the full scheduled shift

Pay and Benefits

• Pay: $26–$28 per hour
• Overtime paid at 1.5x, when applicable
• Holiday pay for company-recognized holidays, when applicable
• Health insurance available for caregivers who consistently work 35 or more hours per week
• Consistent ongoing client assignment
• Support from a responsive office team

Requirements

• Prior professional caregiving experience
• Active Washington HCA, CNA, or NAC credential
• Current TB test or screening
• Current CPR certification
• Current Food Worker Card
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Reliable transportation to and from Harstine Island
• Reliable phone access for work-related communication
• Ability to complete onboarding documents if selected
• Availability Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Comfort supporting a client with memory care needs
