Job Summary

The Pricing Analyst will help build, run, and improve the models and processes that set CleanChoice's retail electricity prices across deregulated markets, including PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE. This role reports to the Director of Pricing and sits at the intersection of wholesale supply costs and customer-facing pricing: translating energy, capacity, ancillary, and REC costs into competitive, profitable rates, and giving Sales, Marketing, and leadership clear visibility into how pricing is performing.
This is a hands-on analytical role for someone who wants to learn how retail energy pricing works from the ground up. Scope will grow over time as the analyst develops market expertise and as the pricing function expands into new products, customer types, and channels.

Responsibilities

• Run, maintain, and improve pricing models that build retail rates from underlying cost components (energy, capacity, transmission, ancillaries, RECs, and other cost-to-serve inputs).
• Develop pricing approaches for new products, customer segments, and sales channels, including customers with varied usage sizes and load profiles.
• Track and analyze Price to Compare, wholesale forward curves, competitor offers, and cost of goods over time; flag changes that warrant a pricing response.
• Monitor margin, conversion, and retention performance by market, product, and channel, and recommend pricing adjustments.
• Automate and clearly document pricing processes; proactively identify opportunities to reduce manual work and error risk, including through Python, SQL, and AI tools.
• Build and maintain reporting and dashboards that give Sales, Marketing, Finance, and leadership clear visibility into pricing and margin.
• Partner with Energy Markets/Supply on cost inputs, load assumptions, and price and volume risk considerations embedded in retail pricing.
• Support Sales and Marketing teams with pricing for campaigns, channel partners, and individual pricing requests, turning requests around quickly and accurately.
• Perform QA on pricing outputs before they reach customers and systems, and reconcile rates across pricing, enrollment, and billing systems.
• Present pricing analysis and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field).
• 1–3 years of experience in an analytical role — pricing, energy, finance, consulting, or similar.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, plus working experience with at least one of SQL, Python, or VBA for analyzing large datasets.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to connect analysis to practical commercial decisions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through; makes a habit of double- and triple-checking work.
• Clear written and verbal communicator who can explain pricing logic to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and fast turnarounds in an evolving environment, with a strong sense of ownership.

Preferred

• Experience in retail or wholesale electricity or natural gas markets.
• Familiarity with full-requirements cost components and how they vary by utility, ISO, and customer load profile.
• Understanding of load shape, swing/volume risk, and how they affect retail pricing.
• Experience with Snowflake, Domo, Power BI, or similar data and reporting platforms.
• Experience building or maintaining Python-based analytical tools.
• Exposure to FP&A concepts as they relate to retail margins and unit economics.
• Familiarity with AI tools for analysis, automation, or research (Claude preferred, given internal tooling).

Compensation

This position offers a base salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 and a robust benefits package.
