About the role:
The Laundry Supervisor is a key member of the Housekeeping team and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's laundry, dry-cleaning (valet), and uniform room functions. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, efficiency, and inventory control while supervising staff, maintaining optimal linen and uniform inventory levels, implementing effective tracking systems, and ensuring the proper handling of all laundry, dry-cleaning, and uniform-related items.
This position reports to the Housekeeping Managers, operates on a rotating shift schedule, and includes on-the-job training.
What you will do:
- Supervise and coordinate laundry, valet (dry cleaning), and uniform room operations to ensure the timely and efficient processing of hotel linens, towels, guest laundry, dry cleaning, guest clothing, and colleague uniforms.
- Oversee uniform room operations, including the distribution, collection, alteration coordination, inventory management, and replacement of colleague uniforms to ensure standards of appearance are maintained.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and tracking systems for linens, uniforms, guest laundry, dry cleaning, and other laundry items, including soiled, clean, discarded, and stained goods.
- Monitor the quality of linens, terry, uniforms, and guest laundry, ensuring only clean, stain-free, well-presented items are returned to guests, colleagues, and operational departments.
- Report damaged or lost items promptly to the external laundry service and request credits or replacements as necessary.
- Ensure the regular rotation of linens and uniforms in circulation to prolong their lifespan and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Oversee the folding, finishing, presentation, and storage of terry towels, linens, and uniforms in accordance with established standards.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping, Spa, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, and third-party vendors to assess linen, laundry, dry cleaning, and uniform requirements based on occupancy levels, staffing needs, and event schedules.
- Assist the Housekeeping Management team with the preparation and maintenance of weekly schedules for laundry, valet, and uniform room operations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining monthly inventory sheets, uniform inventories, and poundage reports for financial and operational analysis.
- Support the implementation of monthly linen and uniform replacement strategies based on discard and wear-and-tear reports to maintain optimal PAR levels and inventory standards.
- Train and coach staff on proper laundry, dry cleaning, uniform handling, storage, inventory control, and reporting procedures.
- Ensure all laundry, valet, and uniform room operations comply with company standards, health and safety requirements, and service expectations.
- Assists other departments, as required, in resolving operational or guest-related issues.
- Responds appropriately to all hotel emergency and safety situations.
- Performs additional duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by hotel management.
What you bring:
- Minimum 1 year of previous supervisory experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Minimum 1 year of previous laundry, dry cleaning, or uniform room experience in a fast-paced operation.
- Completion of post-secondary education in Hospitality Management or a related field is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong command of the English language. Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Previous experience with the HotSOS system is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including grasping, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.

The hourly wage for this role is $32.03.
Schedule & Hours:
This position requires an applicant with an open schedule and the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
