Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, assembling, repairing, and inspecting electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies. This role requires strong technical expertise to diagnose complex issues, perform repairs, conduct testing, and ensure products meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with experience working in industrial, manufacturing, electronic, automotive, military, aviation, or oilfield environments and possesses strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, disassemble, test, inspect, and repair electro-mechanical equipment and components.
- Perform advanced soldering and assembly of electrical and electronic devices.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures using logical diagnostic techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
- Utilize testing and measurement equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, hi-pot testers, and precision gauging tools.
- Perform rework and modifications on non-conforming equipment and support root cause investigations.
- Maintain accurate testing, repair, and inspection records.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced technicians.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, repair, testing, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, fluid power systems, and electro-mechanical devices.
- Proficiency using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong computer, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in aerospace, military, oilfield, automotive, electronics, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Familiarity with quality systems, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement practices.
