What you’ll contribute to
Join Toyota Australia and help shape better commercial and supplier outcomes.
We have a full-time permanent opportunity for a Procurement Business Partner (Indirect) to join our Finance, Procurement & Legal Division.
Working within the Indirect Procurement Shared Services team, you will build trusted relationships across Toyota Finance Australia and help stakeholders turn business challenges into practical procurement and supplier strategies. You will influence decisions early, lead sourcing and supplier initiatives, and help the business achieve strategic outcomes.
We are looking for someone who is commercially curious, strategic, communicates with clarity and can constructively challenge thinking. You may bring experience from procurement, commercial advisory, supplier management, contract management or another relevant business-facing discipline. Your judgement, communication skills and ability to learn will be as important as your technical procurement experience.
This role is based in Port Melbourne, with occasional travel to our Altona North office. Flexible working arrangements are available. Fortnightly travel to our Sydney office is an additional requirement of the role.
How you’ll make an impact
Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, provide strategic procurement advice, influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendations, and lead sourcing initiatives across a range of indirect spend categories.
Evaluate options across service deliverables, supplier capability, risk, sustainability and long-term value.
Facilitate effective supplier relationships, performance conversations and improvement initiatives.
Lead or coordinate contract negotiations, renewals, due diligence and supplier onboarding activities.
Use market intelligence, spend information and performance data to identify opportunities and support recommendations.
Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Finance and Information Security to apply proportionate governance, while improving procurement processes, tools and stakeholder capability.
Your attributes – If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain commercial matters clearly and adapt your approach to different audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships, influence decisions, and apply sound judgement to understand underlying business needs, challenge established approaches, and drive effective outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and turn information into practical insights and recommendations.
Experience in procurement, commercial advisory, supplier management, contract management, business partnering or a related discipline.
The confidence to facilitate discussions, navigate different perspectives and consider value beyond purchase price, including service, risk, performance and long-term outcomes.
A strong capacity to learn and a collaborative, continuous-improvement mindset. Experience with Coupa or a similar platform would be beneficial, but is not essential.
