Job Summary Performs skilled maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, tools, and structures. Maintains and repairs machinery and mechanical equipment using test instruments, hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Work on machinery, equipment, and tools may include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Facilities repair and maintenance of structures may include painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, metal fabrication, and woodworking. Installs, maintains, and/or repairs electrical systems and fixtures, including running electrical conduit. May be involved with capital improvement and process improvement projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to work, health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Perform job task observations to detect and correct unsafe acts.
- Ability to interact with a variety of levels of personnel throughout the facility and outside personnel (contractors, technical sales, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair machinery, equipment, tools, & facilities.
- Knowledge and use of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical.
- Knowledge and use of welding equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and make recommendations concerning written instructions, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings/specifications.
- Knowledge of design, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements as they relate to components.
- Research and order parts and components for machines.
- Manage daily activities in ePac system.
- Periodic audits of safety items.
- Operate and repair fork trucks.
- Diagnose and repair simple HVAC issues.
- Knowledge and proficiency with computer skills, primarily MS Office.
- Knowledge and support of company policies, products, services, lean manufacturing, and 5/6S Program.
- Participate in kaizen events.
- Understanding and have the ability to apply the principles of lean manufacturing and Kanban systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality systems and specifications.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:
- HS Diploma
Experience:
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Iowa electrical license (Journeyman) or close to completion preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Basic math skills.
- Strong time management and priority/management skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Metrics driven.
- Ability to interact with internal customers and outside vendors.
