We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our growing manufacturing operation in Ulster County. In this role, you'll be the primary business partner for supervisors and employees, helping drive recruiting, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and workforce engagement initiatives.

Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

1.    Recruitment and Staffing

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning requirements.
  • Post job openings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and facilitate the hiring process.
  • Plan new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain relationships with staffing agencies, technical schools, and community organizations.
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
    • Investigate employee complaints and workplace issues in a fair and timely manner.
    • Support conflict resolution and corrective action processes.
    • Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.
    • Assist supervisors in interpreting and applying company policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Administration
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
    • Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication.
    • Support audits and reporting requirements.
    • Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave requests.
  • Benefits
    • Assist with benefits enrollment, employee education, and administration.
    • Respond to employee benefit inquiries and coordinate with benefit providers.
  • Training and Development
    • Coordinate employee training programs, including safety, compliance, and leadership development.
    • Assist with performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Workforce Support
    • Partner with production leadership to support staffing levels across shifts.
    • Assist with attendance management and workforce scheduling initiatives.
    • Support labor relations activities, if applicable.
    • Participate in safety programs and collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) personnel.
    • Help drive employee engagement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Other non-essential duties may be assigned as necessary. 
    • Follow all relevant Quality and / or Environmental standards to which Fair Rite is certified
    • Follow all O.S.H.A. standards and the F/R Safety and Health Policy

    Qualifications

     

    What Makes You Successful

    ✅ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 

    ✅3+ years of Human Resources experience

    ✅ Strong employee relations and investigation experience

    ✅ Knowledge of employment law, FMLA, ADA, and HR compliance

    ✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    ✅ Ability to balance employee advocacy with business needs

    ✅Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environment experience preferred

    Bonus Points For

    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
    • Experience supporting hourly workforces
