Description

The VP, Creative Strategy is responsible for driving Gartner’s creative strategy across all internal communications, external enterprise communications and corporate brand strategy. The VP will lead and inspire a high-performing team, including video production, motion and graphic design and brand, ensuring world-class creative output, continuous innovation, and a strong, unified brand presence. 

Responsibilities: 

Creative Leadership & Strategy:  

  • Set and execute the creative strategy for internal communications and external enterprise communications, aligning with Gartner’s business objectives and brand vision. 
  • Continuously improve the creativity, quality and performance of video production, leading a high-performing team of producers, editors and motion graphics professionals. 
  • Continuously improve the creativity, quality and performance of corporate communications assets, including executive presentations, external reports, brand deliverables, etc, leading a highly valued team of designers. 

Brand Stewardship:  

  • Lead the development, implementation, and coordination of corporate brand guidelines across all internal and external assets, partnering with key stakeholders including Marketing, Business & Technology Insights, Global Product Management, Legal, and others. 
  • Ensure the rollout and adoption of visual identity systems and brand messaging, partnering with key internal stakeholders. 
  • Continuously assess and articulate the strategic value of brand health, leveraging data and analytics to inform decisions and demonstrate impact. 

Operational Excellence & Innovation:  

  • Establish and cascade production approaches and creative standards, ensuring all deliverables are on-brand, high-quality, and efficiently produced. 
  • Identify, pilot, and implement technology-enabled solutions, including AI, to further increase the efficiency and productivity of the team while improving the quality of deliverables. 
  • Oversee complex, multi-channel productions and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners. 

Team Leadership & Talent Development:  

  • Set business objectives for the creative team and hold accountability for delivering measurable outcomes. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports (Head of Video Production, Associate Creative Director, Sr Director, Brand) and their respective teams, fostering a highly creative, collaborative, positive, and inclusive working environment where colleagues can achieve professional and personal success. 
  • Build and maintain a talented, highly engaged team with the skills and capacity to deliver best-in-class creative solutions. 

Budget & Resource Management:  

  • Own and manage the creative function’s budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and proactive cost management. 
  • Partner closely with the Corporate Communications Ops team to effectively allocate resources to critical creative 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field. 
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in creative leadership, brand strategy, or corporate communications, with a proven track record of leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in video production, design, digital asset management, and creative operations. 
  • Experience implementing technology-enabled solutions, including AI, to drive creative innovation and efficiency. 
  • Strong business acumen with experience in budget ownership and resource management. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at all levels of the organization, including C-suite. 
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, visual identity systems, and associate engagement best practices.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 164,000 USD - 226,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
