The Vet Office is recruiting an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for an exciting Head Veterinary Nurse opportunity in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, within easy reach of Dublin.

The Role
As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role within the practice, helping to maintain high clinical standards while supporting and developing the nursing team.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Leading, supporting and motivating the nursing team
- Helping organise the day-to-day running of the nursing department
- Maintaining excellent standards of patient and client care
- Supporting vets during consultations, procedures and surgery
- Anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing
- Inpatient and hospitalised patient care
- Laboratory work and diagnostic procedures
- Nurse consultations
- Supporting and mentoring junior nurses and other members of the clinical team
- Helping implement efficient clinical protocols and workflows
- Promoting good communication and teamwork throughout the practice
- Supporting the continued development of nursing services within the clinic
This is still a hands-on clinical nursing position, making it ideal for someone who enjoys nursing but would also like greater involvement in leadership and team development.

Who Are We Looking For?
We would particularly like to hear from an RVN who:
- Has good small-animal clinical nursing experience
- Enjoys taking responsibility and supporting other team members
- Has strong communication and organisational skills
- Is confident working as part of a busy clinical team
- Has an interest in leadership, mentoring and developing other nurses
- Wants to continue developing both clinically and professionally
Previous Head Nurse experience would be an advantage, but we would also be interested in speaking with experienced RVNs or Senior Veterinary Nurses who are ready to progress into their first Head Nurse position.

Leixlip is located in County Kildare, immediately west of Dublin, making this an attractive option for candidates who want access to Dublin while living outside the city centre.
