A healthcare company is seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join its back-office accounting team.

The role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly financials, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other core accounting functions, while working closely with senior finance leadership.

This is a great opportunity for a strong accounting professional to get into the healthcare/SNF space. Prior healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements

• Handle month-end close and related accounting activities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Assist with accounts payable, cash management, and other back-office accounting functions

• Support healthcare cost reporting and related financial requirements

• Review account activity and help identify and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records

• Help improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows

• Work closely with finance leadership and other departments on accounting and reporting matters

• Assist with audits, tax work, and external accounting requests as needed

Requirements

• Strong accounting background with experience in public accounting, ideally with a large national or leading regional accounting firm

• Strong understanding of financial reporting and core accounting principles

• Ability to prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Experience in a client relations, advisory, or consulting-type role strongly preferred

• High level of drive, ownership, and follow-through

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
