Job Description Summary
The Power Services Team Leader part of Gas Power at GEV will be responsible for the proposal development/contract management in the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process within his/her scope and will be responsible for pulling all necessary resources and information in order to submit a successful proposal.This position will report to the Power Services Gas 's Commercial Director.
Job Description
- Coordinate and support in conjunction with the Commercial Director workload distribution and screening process of the new opportunities
- Responsible for supporting assigned team loading by working tenders in support with region needs
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
- Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field, best practice sharing – and suggest trainings topics for the group to be developed or promote to the Commercial Director.
- Support strategy for new and renegotiation of MMP contracts in conjunction with the ITR members.
- Provide leadership during the deal review process including approvals.
- Ensure with the team member's KPI, follow up, and plan to improve those in conjunction with the Commercial Director.
- Provide input of the team members as consulted into the checkpoints and yearly performance summary to the Commercial Director.
- Coordinate all aspects of the inquiry-to-order phase of proposal/bid management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, contract negotiations, specification.
- compliance, scope development, pricing/financial summary, and issue resolution for proposals to which he/she is allocated.
- Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risk points, risk mitigation, and business risk acceptance levels are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost, and contractual wording.
- Ensure terms and conditions are properly reviewed, mitigated and associated risk check lists are completed and approved for all proposals.
- Owner of Financial Summaries for each opportunity – price/cost summary, contribution margins, cash-flow and tax compliance.
- Project manager of the ITO process: take a lead for the proposal preparation and submission, contract negotiation, and complete project handover.
Inquiry to Order (ITO) to Order to Remittance (OTR).
- Present deals for approval and drives process
- Rigor and compliance of our commercial process
- Bring key stakeholders into ITO phase
- Key ITO linkage to finance, engineering, product line: lead pricing discussions, build deal structures and risk mitigation plan
- Drives contract negotiations in front of customers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a Business or Engineering discipline
- At least 10 years of sales/commercial experience in the power generation industry
- 5+ years leadership experience in Commercial Operations or equivalent associated with the energy services industry
Desired:
- Technical competency in Gas Plant Technology
- Experienced in project/complex bid management process.
- Strong experience in Complex Projects and Multi-Year Agreements for Gas Turbine Technology and experienced in power plant integration projects.
- Proven experience in opportunity management / Bid management and handling proposal
- Experience working with multidisciplinary functions - Ability to perform effectively in a matrix management.
- Good working knowledge of commercial processes, pulling resources together to collect bid information, creating bid/proposal documents from scratch.
- Ability to interface and communicate with customers to introduce and negotiate opportunity to closure
- Solid organization and multi-task capability in a dynamic environment. Ability to structure creative deals to support customers, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with diverse customers.
- Business / financial acumen and an understanding how transactions affect the business model(both for GE VERNOVA and the customer) and capable of strategic thinking
- Excellent interpersonal communications, presentation and facilitation skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization including senior leadership
- Experience with customer specification review, Terms & Conditions, public procurement law, proposal development and leading a sales effort
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
