TEMPORARY FLEET SERVICES TECHNICIAN (1 vacancy)
Reporting to: Fleet Services Manager
Department: Public Works
Classification: Temporary Full Time Hours (Maximum 6 months), Unionized
Salary Range: $31.05 as per Schedule “A”
Hours of Work: As per CA.
Starting Date: As soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair small equipment i.e. concrete saws, trimmers and pumps
- Perform other duties related to the Fleet Services department such as fabrication, cleaning and maintenance
- Wash and clean corporate vehicles
- Pick up and deliver corporate vehicles
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Attend training seminars and classes
- Carry out work assignments in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements, and any other safety policies, procedures and regulations, etc.
- Ensure that all necessary personal protective equipment (e.g. safety boots, hearing protection, eye protection, etc.) is used and is maintained in good condition.
- Responsible for reporting work accomplishments, resources used, and time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma
- Must be proficient with hand tools and power tools
- Valid DZ driver’s license in good standing
- Must have an excellent understanding of mechanics and vehicle / equipment operation
- Must work well independently and with others
- Experience servicing vehicles or equipment preferred
- Experience rebuilding/repairing small equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret parts & service manuals as well as wiring schematics preferred
- Technologically competent and able to navigate online parts and schematic sources
Working Conditions:
- Subject to working in all weather conditions.
- Subject to usual garage conditions such as moderate amounts of noise, dust, grit, oil/grease, fumes, solvents or paints.
- Required to do heavy lifting.
- Subject to shift work and overtime as required.
