About the Company

At Mr. Electric of Connecticut, we are redefining what homeowners expect from an electrical service provider. Our mission is to deliver safety, integrity, and world-class craftsmanship to our neighbors throughout the community. Backed by the resources, training, and brand reputation of a nationally recognized industry leader, we foster a collaborative, professional work culture where technicians are respected, heard, and genuinely supported.

Our team operates on the core values of Respect, Integrity, Customer Focus, and Having Fun. We maintain transparent, open communication, celebrate team performance with cash incentives and more, and actively help each team member achieve their career and personal goals.

About the Role

As our founding full-time Licensed Residential Electrician (CT E-2 / E-1), you will play a critical, high-impact role in setting the standard for our technical excellence and customer service. You aren't just taking a job; you are stepping into a strategic position with a direct pathway to future leadership as we scale.

Dispatched directly from your home in our new company van, you will deliver our signature white-glove customer experience to homeowners - laying down floor mats, wearing shoe covers, and conducting thorough whole-home safety evaluations to ensure our customers' homes are safe, efficient, and up to code. You will attend a brief team meeting at our Norwalk office on Monday mornings, spending the rest of your week out in the field doing work you can take pride in.

What's In It for You

  • Competitive Base Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour based on experience and licensing for your first 90 days. The goal is to transition to commission as soon as it provides a higher payout for you (which very likely could be less than 90 days).

  • Uncapped OTE: Top performers earn $120,000+ annually - uncapped commission.

  • Hiring Bonus: $3,000 hiring bonus.

  • Performance Rewards: Cash incentives and more for delivering exceptional customer service and earning 5-star Google reviews.

  • Health & Wellness Benefits: $500 monthly ICHRA funding toward Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance starting your first of the month. Employer-paid Basic Life and Short-Term Disability Insurance.

  • Generous Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays: 17 total days (136 hours) of paid time off to start—includes 10 accrued vacation days and 7 paid company holidays. Includes a Floating Personal Day after year one, with vacation time increasing up to 4 weeks with tenure.

  • Equipment & Technology: Branded company van, gas card, uniforms, safety PPE, and an iPad equipped with ServiceTitan software.

Core Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex residential electrical issues with precision and safety.

  • Conduct whole-home electrical safety inspections and present homeowners with clear, tiered options (low, medium, high) and upfront pricing using plain language.

  • Perform panel upgrades, service replacements, EV charger installations, rewiring, and load calculations in full compliance with local electrical codes.

  • Deliver an exceptional white-glove customer experience by maintaining a clean workspace, wearing shoe covers, laying down protective mats, and respecting the homeowner's property.

  • Complete detailed job notes, take photo documentation, and manage job approvals seamlessly using field-service software on your company-issued iPad.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly inventoried company vehicle.

  • Participate in Monday morning team syncs, ongoing paid technical training, and periodic on-call rotations.

Required & Preferred Experience

  • Licensure: Active Connecticut Journeyman (E-2) or Master (E-1) Electrical License required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional electrical experience, with a strong emphasis on residential troubleshooting and service work. Seasoned veterans (7–12+ years) looking for a mentorship role are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in residential panel upgrades, service entrances, circuitry, safety inspections, and electrical schematics.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable operating field management software (e.g., ServiceTitan) on a tablet.

Key Attributes for Success

  • Detail-Oriented & Conscientious: Takes deep personal pride in doing the job right the first time and leaving homes cleaner than found.

  • Intellectually Curious: Passionate about continuous learning, mastering new tech, and sharing knowledge to help teammates grow.

  • Trustworthy Communicator: Builds instant rapport with homeowners, explains options with total honesty, and provides facts without high-pressure sales tactics.

  • Adaptable & Patient: Calm under pressure, handles customer questions with ease, and enjoys solving unique technical challenges.

  • Growth Mindset: Driven to better yourself personally and professionally, with clear career ambitions.
