Economic Crime Intelligence Technical Senior Specialist

 

Role Summary:

 

  • Contribute to automation, tooling and process improvements that make the team more effective.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the ongoing development of intelligence and technical capabilities across the team.
  • Influence intelligence-led decision making through technical knowledge, threat analysis, and strategic insights.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and internal stakeholders to support intelligence-led outcomes.
  • Share knowledge across the team while actively developing your own technical, intelligence and investigative capabilities.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead complex intelligence investigations, technical analysis, and disruption activities targeting fraud, scam, and economic crime threats.
  • Use data, technology and analytical techniques to identify patterns, emerging threats and opportunities for disruption.
  • Support improvements in team efficiency through automation, data analytics, intelligence tooling, and process optimisation.
  • Develop and enhance intelligence collection, monitoring, and analysis capabilities across OSINT, threat intelligence, and fraud infrastructure monitoring.
  • Identify emerging criminal methodologies, infrastructure, and trends, translating findings into actionable intelligence and disruption opportunities.
  • Mentor team members, sharing technical knowledge, investigative methodologies, and best practices.
  • Engage and communicate both verbally and in writing at various levels within the organisation as well as the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound judgement in handling sensitive matters, ensuring compliance with privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Experience or demonstrated aptitude in areas such as coding, scripting, automation, data analytics or intelligence tooling. You don't need to be an expert across all of these areas.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: fraud, scam, economic crime, OSINT, threat intelligence, or technical investigation methodologies.
  • An understanding, or an interest in understanding, social engineering techniques and emerging fraud, scam and cyber-enabled crime trends.
  • Demonstrated experience leading investigations, intelligence activities, or technical initiatives.
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide actionable intelligence and recommendations.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and concurrent deadlines.
