Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through the clinic. This position performs delegated clinical and administrative responsibilities to support patient care and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Working under the direction of the Practice Manager, Director, Medical Oncologist, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, the CMA/RMA assists clinicians in providing high-quality medical care while utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and technical skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting providers with patient care and clinical procedures
• Performing patient intake, vital signs, and other clinical duties within scope of practice
• Triaging telephone calls and relaying information appropriately
• Coordinating communication between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers, and clinical departments
• Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting care coordination activities
• Ordering and maintaining clinical and office supplies
• Providing clerical and administrative support to ensure efficient clinic operations
• Adhering to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

The CMA/RMA reports directly to the Practice Manager and/or Director and performs all duties in accordance with established standards and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program; or
• Completion of an unapproved Medical Assistant training program and successful passage of a nationally recognized certification examination (AAMA, AMT, or equivalent); or
• Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program; or
• Completion of another relevant and applicable clinical training program

Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent applicable certification
