.Ciena is seeking an experienced supply chain planning professional to drive production planning and scheduling activities at its manufacturing site in Thailand. This role plays a key part in achieving customer delivery commitments by aligning demand, capacity, materials, and operational readiness across internal teams and Contract Manufacturing partners. The position serves as the primary connection between the factory and Ciena's global Planning organization, providing visibility, risk assessment, and execution support to enable delivery performance.

How you will make an impact:

• Drive planning and scheduling activities to align customer demand with delivery commitments.

• Develop and maintain production plans that balance customer requirements, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and operational constraints.

• Utilize data, analytical tools, and mathematically based planning models to drive planning decisions.

• Monitor execution against production plans and coordinate corrective actions to address gaps.

• Identify, communicate, and escalate risks related to capacity, materials, resources, and manufacturing constraints.

• Partner closely with Contract Manufacturer planning teams to understand constraints, delivery commitments, and opportunities to improve execution.

• Act as the on-site representative of Ciena's global Planning organization, providing regular visibility into inventory, capacity, surge capacity, factory readiness, risks, and opportunities.

• Partner cross-functionally across Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to align priorities and resolve planning challenges.

• Prepare and present planning insights, capacity outlooks, risk assessments, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.

The must haves:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline.

• Experience: 10-15 years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, manufacturing operations, or scheduling roles.

• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across teams to achieve delivery commitments.

• Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver the plan, communicate expectations clearly, and facilitate commitment discussions to support successful execution.

• Demonstrated experience owning production planning, supply planning, or scheduling activities within a telecom, semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or electronics environment.

• Application of capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory management, surge capacity, and demand/supply planning methodologies.

• Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and global supply chain organizations, with the ability to identify constraints, risks, and opportunities.

• Utilization of Excel and planning tools to analyze operational data and develop actionable plans.

• Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and presentation capabilities.

Nice to haves:

• Experience supporting telecommunications, networking, electronics, or advanced manufacturing industries.

• Knowledge of ERP and supply chain planning systems, including SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, RapidResponse, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience supporting planning activities across multiple manufacturing sites or global supply networks.

• Certifications: APICS/ASCM certification or equivalent supply chain credentials.
