Description
Position Summary
Acuren is seeking a CWI to support Lab operations in Santa Ana, CA. THIS WILL BE A LAB POSITION.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Visual, Non-Destructive & Destructive testing in accordance with industry standards pertaining to Aerospace & Defense along with client Specifications.
- Perform Metallographic Inspections, Tensile Testing, Bend Tests (Prepping and Inspecting samples) for Welder Performance Qualifications and Procedure Qualifications
- Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards to ensure all welds meet acceptance criteria.
- Review welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder performance qualification (WPQ) records; witness and validate welder qualification tests.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, photographic evidence, and dimensional measurements; compile acceptance/rejection data and submit reports to engineering, production, or quality teams.
- Adhere to both industry codes and aerospace & defense-specific requirements (e.g., DoD guidance, NAS-410, SNT TC-1A).
Requirements
- AWS QC-1 CWI
- 3-5 years' experience
- Certifiable in SNT-TC-1A VT Level II
- Other certs are a plus (MT, PT, UT, RT)
- Metallurgy/Metallographic Inspection experience
