Job Description
The Associate Business Analyst, Manufacturing supports the systems, processes, and cross-functional partnerships that enable manufacturing and product traceability across global operations, contributing to the operational capabilities behind Gilead’s broader mission. Working closely with Information Technology and business partners, you will translate business needs into effective solutions, support the implementation and testing of enterprise systems, and assess the impact of business and regulatory changes. In this highly collaborative role, you will apply your business analysis expertise to manufacturing, supply chain, and serialization initiatives that support operational excellence, compliance, and the delivery of business-critical capabilities across the organization.
This position is based in Foster City, California, and is hybrid eligible.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business needs to support new initiatives and system changes for internal manufacturing and global serialization and traceability systems.
- Document current-state processes, gathers business and user requirements, develops use cases, and assesses process and system impacts in partnership with IT and other business functions.
- Perform business process re-engineering and enterprise system assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop solution options, cost analyses, and strategic assessments based on business needs and requirements.
- Present analysis, recommendations, and proposed solutions to leadership.
- Plan, coordinate, execute, and document regression and user acceptance testing in accordance with Gilead’s IT validation processes.
- Review and approve system development life cycle documentation, including validation plans and qualification test scripts, and updates controlled documents as needed.
- Coordinate implementation and post-go-live activities across manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing organizations.
- Collaborate with global functional groups to support the interpretation of evolving serialization and traceability regulations and industry standards, including GS1.
- Manage assigned global, cross-functional initiatives; evaluates the impact of regulatory and business changes; and applies independent judgment to implement solutions for moderately complex business problems.
- Travel domestically and internationally, as needed, to support projects and industry serialization and traceability events.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Degree and 6 Years' Experience
OR
Associate Degree and 5 Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing business analysis, including gathering and documenting business requirements, developing use cases, and mapping business processes.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems and exposure to manufacturing or supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, or labeling operations, including related systems, business processes, and controls.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical operations or a current Good Manufacturing Practice environment.
- Knowledge of serialization and traceability processes, regulations, or industry standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate clear, well-supported conclusions and recommendations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with working knowledge of basic project management tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated learning agility within complex systems and processes and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
