Small Animal Veterinarian – Middletown, CT
A companion animal veterinary practice is seeking a Small Animal Veterinarian to join its clinical team. The position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care in a professional environment with experienced veterinary support and access to additional medical resources when needed. The ideal candidate is committed to quality medicine, effective client communication, teamwork, and continued professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical care for companion animal patients across a range of routine and complex needs.
- Conduct physical examinations and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform preventive and wellness care, dentistry, surgery, and urgent medical services as appropriate.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Work closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other members of the clinical team.
- Utilize available diagnostic and medical resources to support patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain current professional knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace.
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Current veterinary license or eligibility to obtain the required state license.
- Experience or strong interest in companion animal medicine.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary team.
- Commitment to compassionate patient care and high clinical standards.
- Interest in ongoing learning and professional growth.
