JOB SUMMARY


The Finance Officer, Distribution provides analytical, governance, and financial oversight and audit support to the Supervisor, Program Oversight. This role safeguards data integrity across the Distribution division by managing unit costing models, facilitating oversight initiatives, tracking program commitments, and evaluating key scorecards. By analyzing complex data, applying financial frameworks, and managing audit compliance, the Finance Officer, Distribution offers strategic guidance to optimize operations and support executive decisions.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer operational compliance frameworks and lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring full adherence to established standards, including ISO 55001 (Asset Management) and Ontario Regulation 22/04.
  • Mine, integrate, and analyze complex enterprise data to extract actionable insights, identify key cost drivers, and support productivity initiatives that advance safety, quality, and operational output.
  • Steward the centralization of unit costing models across Distribution to establish standardized cost controls. 
  • Support the preparation, governance, and forecasting of annual budgets.
  • Perform root cause analyses on financial and operational data to resolve discrepancies, bridge workflow gaps, design effective internal controls, and streamline reporting processes.
  • Collect, validate, and track performance data against key scorecard indicators, ensuring data integrity for executive decision-making and regulatory filings.
  • Build and maintain reporting templates, audit work papers, and interactive dashboards,  collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline data flow and communicate technical and financial information clearly.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders to offer functional support, analyze business processes and system improvements, and assess overall business impact. 
  • Assist in the design, planning and execution of financial projects as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, or Engineering.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in financial analysis, audit/governance compliance, data mining, or operational reporting.
  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Understanding of utility financial and regulatory accounting principles considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in data analytics and in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably Google Workspace; familiarity with BI dashboarding tools (e.g.Tableau) is an asset.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • English essential, both oral and written; Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.

This is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

This is a management group opportunity. The annual salary range for this position identified below depends on experience, education, and professional designation. The successful candidate will be offered a salary within this range based on their qualifications.

Pay Range Minimum:

$74,517.10

Pay Range Maximum:

$111,775.67
