What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Finance Shared Services-Finance Application Operations team.  As Manager of Business Operations Support, this position is responsible for the ongoing management of FIBRS (Financial Business Rules system), with a key focus on the Calculations rules. As subject matter expert (SME) you will work with our business partners to identify new requirements and system enhancement opportunities to drive Finance System improvements and efficiencies.

 

 

What will you do?

 

  • Manage the shared service team responsible for processing FiBRS business rules transactions.
  • As subject matter expert (SME), work with our business partners to identify new requirement opportunities to drive Finance System improvements and efficiencies related to FIBRS   rules
  • Validate the impact of business rule changes to financial reporting, lead user acceptance test plan creation & execution and provide clients with UAT results for signoff
  • Validate weekly/monthly reports to ensure completeness & accuracy of FIBRS business rules
  • Proactively contribute content to Knowledge Management tool to contribute to an efficient support environment and actively support cross training within shared service team
  • Participate in all SOX audit activities in support of finance systems ensuring compliance to all controls.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have 

 

  • Previous knowledge of RBC finance systems and tools (i.e. EPM, FIBRS and PeopleSoft)
  • Detail oriented, analytical, can work independently and is a fast learner
  • Change mindset and ability to apply a process improvement lens to all BAU activities
  • Good communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven time management, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills

 

Nice-to-have

 

  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, VB lookups)
  • Experience with writing process documentation
