The Project & Programme Services (PPS) team is a critical component of the Global Project & Programme Management Office (GPMO). The team delivers predictable and efficient project performance management, reporting, and business intelligence across global portfolios. Operating from the Global Technology Centre (GTC) in India, PPS provides cost-effective, agile, and scalable programme services using an onshore-offshore delivery model. Our ambition is to become the global leader in Programme Management Services by building a future-ready, digitally enabled, high-performing team.

We are seeking an experienced Planning & Project Controls professional to support the successful delivery of complex projects across Process, Manufacturing & Production, Energy, Pharma, Infrastructure, Transportation (Rail, Highways, and Aviation) sectors. The role combines expertise in planning, scheduling, cost management, project controls, reporting and performance monitoring to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while meeting client and business objectives.

 

Your role

 

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and control integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other planning tools.
  • Establish and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity sequencing, logic links, resource loading, and schedule baselines.
  • Prepare detailed look-ahead schedules and monitor progress against approved baselines.
  • Conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, schedule performance analysis, and delay analysis.
  • Identify schedule risks and opportunities and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Support change management processes and update Performance Measurement Baselines (PMB) for approved scope and schedule changes.
  • Develop and maintain EPC project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

Project Controls & Cost Management

  • Establish and maintain Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) aligned with project WBS.
  • Prepare project control procedures, governance frameworks, and reporting structures.
  • Track and analyse project budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, forecasts, contingencies, and cash flows.
  • Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis and provide performance insights.
  • Monitor project cost and schedule variances, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Produce periodic cost reports, forecasts, dashboards, and project performance reports.
  • Support pricing estimates and cost planning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist project managers with early warnings, change orders, claims support, and project controls documentation.

Risk, Change & Performance Management

  • Support qualitative and quantitative risk analysis activities.
  • Monitor project KPIs and performance indicators.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and schedule/cost impact analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project governance processes.
  • Support supply chain management activities and contract administration requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and standardization of project controls processes.

Reporting & Data Analytics

  • Develop Power BI dashboards and interactive reports to support project decision-making.
  • Analyse project data and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor and report KPIs, trends, forecasts, and project performance metrics.
  • Utilize data analytics, Power BI, DAX, SQL, and business intelligence tools to improve project visibility and reporting effectiveness.
  • Support automation and digital transformation initiatives within project controls functions.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for planning and project controls activities.
  • Facilitate alignment on schedule, cost, risk, and performance objectives.
  • Participate in client meetings, steering committees, project reviews, and governance forums.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support successful project delivery.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide junior planners and project controls professionals.
  • Promote best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across projects and portfolios.
  • Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and commitment to high-quality project delivery.

 

About you

             

Technical Competencies

  • Strong experience in Planning, Scheduling, Cost Management, and Project Controls.
  • Expert understanding of CPM scheduling techniques and Earned Value Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and related planning tools.
  • Experience with cost management systems such as EcoSys or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in cost management tools such as EcoSys and report preparation skills
  • Practiced - Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), Cash Flow, Contingency Management 
  • Proficient in Financial System Interface, Budget/Cost Control, Cost Change Control
  • Knowledge of NEC3, NEC4, and FIDIC contracts and their impact on project controls, claims, and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience in EPC and infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, data analytics, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of automation tools, VBA, and digital solutions is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience in Planning and/or Project Controls roles on large-scale projects.
  • Experience supporting UK, Middle East, or US projects is preferred.
  • Master's degree in Project Management or related field is an advantage.
  • Preferred Certifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), APM / MAPM, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MRICS
  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Schedule Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or equivalent professional certifications.
