Purchase Officer – Trucks & Vehicles

Job Purpose

The Purchase Officer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, spare parts, equipment, and components required for NAFFCO’s Trucks & Vehicles Department.

The role will support vehicle manufacturing, assembly, modification, and related operations by ensuring required materials are purchased at competitive prices and delivered on time.

Candidates with experience in either Local Purchase or Foreign/International Purchase can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and review purchase requisitions from the Trucks & Vehicles Department.

• Source automotive and vehicle-related materials from local and international suppliers.

• Obtain quotations and prepare price and supplier comparisons.

• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.

• Prepare and process Purchase Orders in accordance with company procedures.

• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

• Purchase materials and components such as:

  • Truck and vehicle spare parts

  • Chassis-related components

  • Mechanical components

  • Electrical and electronic components

  • Tools, equipment, and workshop consumables etc

• Ensure purchased items meet required technical specifications, approved brands, and quality standards.

• Coordinate with technical teams to clarify specifications where required.

• Follow up on pending Purchase Orders and maintain updated delivery status.

Foreign Purchase Responsibilities

• Source vehicle parts, chassis components, equipment, and materials from overseas suppliers.

• Coordinate with international vendors regarding quotations, Proforma Invoices, purchase orders, and shipment schedules.

Local Purchase Responsibilities

• Source automotive and engineering materials from UAE-based suppliers and distributors.

• Obtain quotations for urgent vehicle production and maintenance requirements.

• Identify alternative local sources for urgent or discontinued materials.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in the automotive, trucks, commercial vehicles, vehicle manufacturing, heavy equipment, spare parts, or engineering industry is highly preferred.

• ERP or procurement system experience will be an advantage.

• Ability to handle multiple requirements and work within production deadlines.
