Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to provide trusted HR support across Spain and Portugal. Acting as a key partner to managers and employees, you will provide expert guidance on employee relations, employment law, people policies, and HR best practice, helping to ensure a positive employee experience while managing business and legal risk.
This role requires strong knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese employment legislation, the ability to manage a broad range of employee relations matters, and a collaborative approach to supporting business leaders in a dynamic, international environment.
The role will be based in either our Madrid or Barcelona office where we have a flexible hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across Spain and Portugal.
- Manage employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, absence management, flexible working requests, and workplace investigations.
- Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and company policies.
- Support organisational change initiatives, restructures, consultations, and other workforce projects.
- Partner with managers to address people-related challenges and build leadership capability.
- Advise on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and fair decision-making.
- Work closely with regional HR, Legal, and business stakeholders on complex employee matters.
- Support annual HR processes including performance reviews, compensation cycles, talent planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor legislative developments and provide guidance on their impact to the business.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or Employee Relations role.
- Strong working knowledge of Spanish employment law; knowledge of Portuguese employment law is highly desirable.
- Experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising managers.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a regional HR team.
- Fluent Spanish and English required; Portuguese would be an advantage.
