Job Title: Operations & Logistics Manager (Supply & Procurement)

Contractor Fee: $1,800 - $2,500/month (USD)

Work Arrangement: Remote

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

Commitment: Full-time (Approx. 40 hours/week)

Company Overview:

Tidal is a Direct Placement Agency that helps job seekers find job opportunities for real growth. We work with stable, responsible businesses that are experienced in remote hiring and are excited to welcome international team members. Tidal is owned and operated by consumer brand owners and operators. We have offshore team-building experience and aim to help businesses leverage global talent.

About This Role:

We are seeking a proactive, highly accountable Operations & Logistics Manager to own daily procurement, inventory, and logistics for a growing direct-to-consumer wellness eCommerce brand. You will work closely with the founders to execute delivery plans and serve as the main contact for suppliers, packaging partners, freight providers, and the 3PL. You will also take over existing back-end Claude operations and use Claude daily within operational systems and workflows. This hands-on role requires strong English, timely communication, consistent follow-through, and the confidence to hold vendors accountable. Success means identifying risks early, owning issues through resolution, and keeping operations moving without repeated founder follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own procurement and supplier execution: Manage purchase orders through confirmed receipt at the 3PL. Verify quantities, pricing, lead times, and production milestones. Ensure partners receive approved artwork and specifications.

  • Keep vendors accountable: Proactively follow up with suppliers and logistics partners. Push for firm deadlines, address delays, and secure clear commitments and corrective actions.

  • Maintain inventory availability: Track finished goods, packaging, accessories, and incoming supply against expected demand. Identify stockout risks, coordinate replenishment, and resolve discrepancies. Align deliveries with launches, promotions, and the marketing calendar.

  • Manage logistics and 3PL performance: Coordinate freight bookings, shipping documents, shipment tracking, and receiving. Resolve delays and hold the 3PL accountable for fulfillment accuracy and service levels.

  • Maintain Shopify operational accuracy: Manage SKUs, shipping settings, subscription-related configurations, and relevant integrations. Follow approval and testing procedures for changes affecting checkout, availability, subscriptions, or fulfillment.

  • Own Claude-powered operations: Take over existing back-end Claude workflows and system integrations. Use Claude daily to support operational execution, maintain existing workflows, and implement improvements. Validate outputs and test changes before relying on them.

  • Track performance and costs: Maintain accurate reports covering inventory, purchase orders, delivery timelines, partner performance, and freight and fulfillment costs. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service.

  • Communicate and resolve issues: Respond promptly during agreed hours. Escalate risks with their impact and recommended action. Keep the team informed and follow issues through confirmed resolution.

  • Follow processes consistently: Maintain SOPs, recurring checklists, and task records. Participate actively in team communication and complete responsibilities without repeated reminders.

Software/Platforms/Tools:

  • Claude and existing Claude-powered back-end workflows

  • Shopify and subscription apps

  • Order and inventory management systems

  • Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel and reporting dashboards

  • Freight, logistics, and 3PL platforms

  • Asana, Monday.com, Notion, or similar project management tools

  • Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in operations, procurement, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain, preferably within eCommerce or consumer goods.

  • Proven experience managing suppliers, packaging partners, freight providers, and 3PLs independently. Able to push for deadlines and resolve disruptions.

  • Strong inventory and replenishment skills, including identifying stockout risks and coordinating supply around demand and promotions.

  • Hands-on Shopify experience, including operational settings and integrations that affect checkout, subscriptions, availability, or fulfillment.

  • Strong daily Claude proficiency beyond email drafting or basic prompting. Practical experience integrating Claude into systems and operational workflows is required, along with the ability to quickly understand and take over existing back-end Claude operations.

  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for operational tracking, cost analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with order and inventory management systems is preferred.

  • Excellent written and spoken English, approximately C1–C2 proficiency. Confident leading vendor calls, pushing back professionally, and explaining risks and solutions.

  • A reliable remote work track record with timely responses, active team engagement, consistent SOP adherence, and ownership of mistakes and corrective actions.

  • Ability to provide a full-time, exclusive commitment and meet the required working-hour overlap. Candidates must disclose existing professional commitments.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Suppliers meet clear commitments, and inventory risks are addressed before they affect availability.

  • Shopify configurations and Claude-powered workflows operate reliably, with changes tested and issues resolved promptly.

  • Leadership receives accurate updates and can rely on consistent execution without chasing progress

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week, with at least six hours of daily overlap with the US East Coast, ideally from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Eastern Time.

  • Reliable availability and responsiveness during agreed working hours are essential. The exact schedule will be confirmed with the client, including whether the overlap follows seasonal daylight saving changes or remains fixed to EST.
