JSP is seeking additional team members to support company growth related to the production of automotive, HVAC, packaging, sports and a variety of consumer goods markets. Our Detroit, Michigan location is in need of a Warehouse Associate to support the achievement of daily shipping goals by  organizing and maintaining the warehouse area.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES :  

• Load and unload as needed for shipping and receiving functions. Follow procedures to ensure accuracy of deliveries and shipments. Put away raw materials in appropriate locations while ensuring First In First Out (FIFO) process is followed. 
• Organize and maintain the receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and adhering to warehousing and inventory programs, policies and procedures
• Assist in pulling suspect material for containment and/or review as well as taking and recording material samples for testing. Appropriately and promptly label products placed on hold or deemed unfit for production.
• Assist in daily inventory movements in warehouse and in inventory system, conduct weekly and monthly physical inventory counts and cycle counts for reconciling data in inventory and accounting system
• Maintain a clean work area, including moving, cleaning, sorting and preparing packaging materials (sacks, pallets, etc.) for reuse. In addition, clean up any other areas affected by work. This is measured by internal audits (visual inspection) and housekeeping scores.
• Report/Document all production and movement activities in order to ensure inventory systems are accurate to production. This is measured by month end close discrepancies between QAD and plant data.

Candidates that possess the ability to back a 53 foot trailer in to a dock will receive top consideration.

Requirements

• A High School diploma or GED is required.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and direction.

PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing. Must be able to operate a forklift truck, which requires the use of arms and legs, the ability to get onto truck and depth perception to stack and/or move crates or other material. Must have finger dexterity and be able to see and hear. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Safety equipment consists of all forms of PPE such as safety glasses, ear plugs and steel-toed shoes.
