Description
This is a two-month paid internship, on-site in our Mexico City office, with a commitment of at least 30 hours per week. It is ideal for someone who wants ownership over a real project rather than observation, who is comfortable asking questions, and who wants to learn from people who do this work every day. Strong performance can open the door to a permanent role.
Challenges that await you:
- Take ownership of one real analytical project from the initial question to the final recommendation, supported by a mentor who understands your work.
- Pull, clean, and analyze data to answer concrete business questions from the team.
- Build dashboards, metrics, and recurring reports that the team uses in its daily work.
- Investigate anomalies and unexpected movements in metrics, and explain what is behind them.
- Turn your analysis into clear conclusions and recommendations that a non-technical audience can act on.
- Document your work so that others can reproduce and reuse it.
- Present your results to the team and respond to questions about your methodology.
- Learn how a licensed bank works end to end, from the product to the numbers it produces.
- Student in the final years of a Bachelor's Degree, or a recent graduate, in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic SQL knowledge and confidence working with spreadsheets.
- Analytical thinking: you use hypotheses to guide your work and interpret results.
- Ability to turn data into a clear, actionable story.
- Working level of English (mandatory): day-to-day work happens in English.
- Availability of at least 30 hours per week for two months, working on-site in Mexico City.
- Curiosity about how products, customers, and businesses behave.
- Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership over your own work.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Metabase.
- Coursework or practical experience with statistics, A/B testing, or forecasting.
- A previous internship, research project, or university project using real data.
- Interest in fintech, banking products, or credit.
