Description
The Manatee County Agricultural Museum preserves our county’s rich agricultural heritage by developing exhibits and programming that focus on the County’s primary commodities such as livestock, vegetables, citrus, horticulture and commercial fishing. The museum features displays of tools, equipment, photographs and exhibits that help interpret our agrarian history. The Supervisor I/Ag Museum position is a full-time, supervisory position that reports to the Director of Historical Resources.• Bachelor’s degree in specific field of endeavor or 4 years of recent and relevant experience in the history field, museum field, or related fields.
• Ability to learn and apply Clerk’s Office policy and organizational culture
• Demonstrates knowledge of local and institutional history
• 4 years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment
• Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills required
• Must be able to operate general office equipment
• Demonstrates supervisory and leadership knowledge or competency
• Professional oral and written communication skills
• Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license

• Sets priorities and allocates staff and other resources to meet needs in a timely, effective manner, and establishes and maintains staff and work schedules to meet

• Conducts regular staff meetings to disseminate information, communicate policies, goals and procedures
• Creates and maintains site procedures
• Coordinates appropriate measures to implement procedural changes which affect the site and/or department
• Plans and manages site budget
• Provides administrative assistance and administers nonprofit purchasing policy for the nonprofit group assigned to this site
• Oversees the maintenance of artifacts donated to the site and nonprofit group
• Conducts community outreach to promote historic site and encourage public participation in historic preservation
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job, including weekends and occasional evenings
