Job Overview
The Evening Shift Zone Owner performs various manufacturing and assembly tasks in a safe manner while complying with all PPE requirements. Each task must be completed to exceed customer expectations and maintain a balanced line flow that meets delivery schedules. This position efficiently completes assembly tasks while coordinating work cells, mentoring team members, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support training, quality, and process improvements
Highlights of your role
• Perform advanced assembly tasks across multiple stations, ensuring adherence to SOPs and quality standards.• Retrieve parts according to pick lists and verify accuracy.• Conduct visual inspections and in-process quality checks using gauges and jigs; immediately escalate defects or issues to the supervisor.• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S standards.• Model safe behaviors and complete safety observations; sustain 5S and assist with JHA reviews. Follow all PPE and safety requirements, report hazards and near misses promptly.• Coordinate workflow within assigned work cells to maintain balanced line flow and meet delivery schedules.• Act as a technical resource for associates; provide guidance and resolve day-today issues constructively.• Lead on-the-job training and mentor team members across multiple stations; update job aids as needed.• Assist with minor troubleshooting and make standard fixture adjustments to maintain line flow.• Assist with minor changeovers and station setup per SOPs.• Support team goals and assist with adjacent tasks when requested.• Monitor quality performance within the cell; lead containment efforts and recommend corrective actions.• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and piloting new methods or tools.• Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments to ensure smooth operations and problem resolution.• Promote a culture of safety and integrity by consistently following all safety protocols, reporting hazards, and engaging in training and initiatives.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
• High school diploma or GED preferred.• Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience, including proficiency across multiple stations.• Demonstrated ability to lead workflow coordination and act as a technical resource for team members.• Strong mentoring and training skills; experience conducting on-the-job training.• Ability to partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Maintenance) to support process improvements and changeovers.• Proficient in using hand and power tools; capable of diagnosing recurring issues and implementing corrective actions.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards; ability to lead containment and recommend countermeasures.• Effective communication and collaboration skills; able to facilitate huddles and communicate priorities clearly.• Basic computer skills for documenting issues, updating visual boards, and supporting training documentation.• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.• Proactive problem-solving skills and readiness to act as backup line lead when needed.
