Description
We are looking for a 310B Journeyman Auto Body Repair Technician to work on Heavy Trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace body components, doors, suspension/driveline components, and underbody components.
- Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers.
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams.
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
- File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs.
- Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation.
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling.
Working Conditions:
- Full time, occasional overtime required depending on project.
- Indoors, noisy, dusty.
- Exposure to dust and fumes.
- Working with sharp metals and power tools Skills and Abilities.
- Proper lifting techniques to handle heavy tools and parts (up to 50lbs).
- Dexterity and hand skills to perform technical repairs.
- Creativity, patience and eye for detail.
- Good colour vision.
- Knowledge of plastics, electronics, metals, finishes and vehicle systems.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience as an Auto Body Technician.
- Journeyman Certification as a 310B Auto Body Repair Technician.
- Strong understanding of automotive body repair, panel work, and structural repairs.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
