Job Summary
The Sales & Applications Engineer is a multi‑faceted technical sales support role responsible for assisting customers, supporting the sales team, and delivering high‑precision application solutions. This position blends engineering knowledge, hands‑on testing, customer service, and strong communication skills to help customers understand products, evaluate measurement applications, and select the right solutions. The ideal candidate can clearly explain technical concepts, perform detailed product evaluations, and collaborate across engineering, product management, and sales teams.
This role is based out of the USA headquarters in Raleigh, NC and reports to the Regional Sales & Technical Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Support

Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or virtual meetings.

Provide detailed product information, specifications, and technical guidance.

Support customers during and after the sale to ensure successful implementation.

Assist in identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate solutions.

Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, virtual trainings, and presentations.

Assist in creating sales proposals, quotes, and order processing.
Application Engineering & Technical Evaluation

Analyze customer application requirements to develop precise measurement solutions.

Organize, perform, and document test measurements, feasibility studies, and part evaluations.

Produce and present test reports and data to validate proposed solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for both existing and prospective customers.

Maintain a deep understanding of product features, benefits, and applications across multiple sensor technologies.

Stay current on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, and technical teams to ensure alignment on product offerings and customer needs.

Provide customer feedback to internal teams to support product improvements and innovation.

Help develop internal and external training materials for new products.

Contribute to optimizing internal processes for increased efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, test results, and transactions in CRM systems.

Prepare regular reports on customer feedback, application findings, and sales performance.
Travel

Occasional travel for onsite customer support, testing, or training as needed.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics strongly preferred) OR minimum 2 years of technical education/experience in a related field.

Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn complex products quickly.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills

Experience in electrical, mechanical, or computer technology.
