Background
The Community Grants Hub (the Hub) works in partnership with government and non-government
organisations to embed the department’s mission to improve the wellbeing of individuals and families in
Australian communities. The Hub does this by administering community-based grants on behalf of the
department and other government departments.
In 2024-25, the Hub managed 27,928 grants totalling $11.6 billion in value. The Hub currently employs staff
located in 12 locations across Australia, including all capital cities where our larger state offices are located.
The Hub is made up of five branches, each with a specific focus and responsibilities:
2 | Community Grants Hub
• Hub Operations Branch
• DSS Grants Branch
• Client Grants Branch
• Inclusive Employment Delivery Branch
• Community Sector Relationships Branch
Roles are currently available within the DSS Grants Branch and Clients Grants Branch.
The DSS Grants Branch partners with government and non-government organisations to deliver DSS grants,
supporting the department’s mission to improve wellbeing in Australian communities. Within the branch, this
work is undertaken by Funding Arrangement Managers, who administer grants through the Design and
Manage phases and provide intelligence to inform evidence-based policy and program development. DSS
Grants Branch staff in the NT are responsible for managing a range of grant programs with grant recipients
located throughout Australia.
The Client Grants Branch delivers grant services in partnership with a wide range of Commonwealth
agencies, supporting funding round design, applicant selection, and ongoing performance and compliance
management of grant agreements. This work is delivered by Funding Arrangement Managers, contributing to
improved health and wellbeing outcomes for Australians through effective grants administration. In the NT
this is centred on the Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care, and the team manage grants under
the Commonwealth Home Support Program and the National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged
Care program, with grant recipients located throughout the NT.
