Electrical Manufacturing Technician – Day Shift

Build Your Future in Electrical Manufacturing

Looking for a hands-on career where you can develop valuable technical skills, work on unique projects, and see the results of your hard work?

Intermountain Electronics (IE) is expanding its manufacturing operations in Price, Utah, and we're hiring Electrical Manufacturing Technicians at multiple experience levels.

IE specializes in designing and manufacturing custom electrical power distribution and control systems used throughout North America. Our products support essential industries such as data centers, mining, utilities, energy, and industrial manufacturing.

No previous electrical experience? No problem!

We welcome motivated individuals who are interested in learning a skilled trade. Entry-level employees receive training to develop the knowledge and abilities needed to succeed.

Already have experience in electrical work, construction, industrial manufacturing, wiring, or another skilled trade? We want to hear from you, too! Your existing skills may qualify you for an advanced technician classification and a higher starting pay rate.

Whether you're entering the workforce, changing careers, or bringing established electrical skills to a new opportunity, IE offers a place to build your future.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

At IE, our technicians work on custom-engineered equipment rather than performing the same repetitive assembly tasks every day.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work a consistent day shift with every other Friday off.
  • Develop technical skills through paid, hands-on training.
  • Advance through multiple electrical technician levels as your skills and experience grow.
  • Earn competitive compensation based on your qualifications and experience.
  • Work primarily indoors at our Price manufacturing facility.
  • Participate in building complex electrical equipment for customers across multiple industries.
  • Enjoy a consistent work location without traveling between construction jobsites.
  • Join a family-owned company with over 40 years of industry experience.
  • Be part of a collaborative workplace that emphasizes safety, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.

Compensation & Benefits

Eligible IE employees have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with available company matching contributions
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Teladoc services
  • Optional supplemental insurance coverage

Work Location & Schedule

Facility: Price, Utah

Employees must be available for a 40-hour workweek, with additional hours as operational needs require.

Position Overview

As an Electrical Manufacturing Technician, you'll contribute to the construction, assembly, wiring, inspection, and testing of custom electrical equipment.

Technicians work on projects at various stages of manufacturing, from initial component installation through final testing and quality verification.

Your specific assignments and level of responsibility will depend on your training, demonstrated abilities, and previous experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Electrical Assembly & Equipment Installation

  • Assemble electrical components and install them into custom power distribution and control equipment.
  • Construct and wire electrical assemblies involving switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control panels, and related systems.
  • Develop the ability to interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions.
  • Measure, route, identify, connect, and terminate electrical conductors according to project specifications.
  • Perform necessary adjustments, repairs, and modifications to electrical assemblies.
  • Verify that installed components and wiring meet established workmanship and project requirements.
  • Recognize assembly errors, wiring inconsistencies, or other discrepancies and assist with appropriate corrections.
  • Support electrical testing and final equipment verification before products are released.

Equipment Testing & Problem-Solving

Depending on training and technician classification, responsibilities may also include:

  • Performing continuity checks to verify electrical connections.
  • Conducting insulation resistance testing.
  • Assisting with or performing high-potential (Hi-Pot) testing.
  • Verifying the proper operation of electrical systems and installed components.
  • Identifying and resolving electrical or mechanical assembly issues.
  • Participating in final inspections to confirm equipment quality and readiness.

All testing and troubleshooting activities must be completed according to established procedures and IE's engineering, safety, and quality requirements.

Hand Tools, Testing Devices & Material Handling

Technicians use a variety of tools and equipment to complete electrical assembly and manufacturing tasks.

Depending on assigned duties, these may include:

  • Wire stripping and crimping equipment
  • Digital multimeters and volt/ohm meters
  • Hi-Pot test equipment
  • Electric drills and utility knives
  • Standard hand tools and powered equipment
  • Forklifts and other material-handling vehicles
  • Overhead cranes and lifting hoists

Prior experience with these tools is not required for entry-level applicants. However, familiarity with electrical testing devices, hand and power tools, or material-handling equipment is a strong advantage.

Training will be provided as appropriate. Employees are responsible for using equipment safely, following operating instructions, and properly maintaining and storing assigned tools.

Quality, Safety & Teamwork

  • Follow all applicable IE safety policies, manufacturing procedures, and established work instructions.
  • Complete assigned production tasks with attention to accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
