Description

ABOUT ASTROBASE SPACE TECHNOLOGIES
Astrobase Space Technologies is an early-stage Bengaluru company building a two-stage orbital launch vehicle. Our engine is a LOX–methane full-flow staged-combustion engine. The Astrobase Propulsion team is looking for experienced and passionate professionals who make sure every part, kit and work order is ready before the floor needs it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Turn the program schedule into a build plan for each engine serial: dates for parts, sub-assemblies, final assembly, acceptance test and shipment.
•    Run MRP from the manufacturing BOM; raise purchase requisitions with the right lead-time offsets and flag long-lead items early.
•    Plan capacity for the additive line, assembly cells, clean room, inspection and test-stand slots; level the load and show where it does not fit.
•    Check that every job is clear to build before release: parts, drawings, travellers, tooling and inspection plans.
•    Release kits to the floor with stores, matched to the traveller and traceable to lot and serial number.
•    Keep a live shortage list and work-in-progress board for every engine in build, including parts held on NCRs or inspection; chase each item with its owner.
•    Keep planning data correct in the ERP: item master, lead times, routings, stock and BOM effectivity by engine serial.
•    Track lead times, cycle times and on-time delivery, and feed the actuals back into the plan.

BASIC QUALIFICATION
•    B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering.
•    Min. 5+ years in production planning and control (PPC) for aerospace, defence, space or precision-engineered hardware built in low volumes.
•    Has run MRP in an ERP system (SAP PP/MM, Oracle or similar): BOMs, routings, work orders, planned orders and lead times.
•    Has planned a high-mix shop covering machining, special processes (welding, brazing, heat treatment, additive), assembly and test.
•    Reads engineering drawings, parts lists and routings; follows lot and serial traceability for flight parts.
•    Strong Excel; builds schedules in MS Project or a similar tool.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•    Planning under an AS9100D quality system: travellers, inspection holds, first-article parts, NCR and MRB holds.
•    Aero-engine, rocket engine, turbopump or valve hardware.
•    Clear-to-build and shortage management; takt-based flow and line balancing.
•    Shelf-life, lot and serial control for flight materials and precision-cleaned parts.
•    SQL, Python or Power BI for planning data and dashboards.
•    Has set up an ERP or planning process from scratch, or helped a line move from first builds to rate production.

WHAT WE OFFER
•    Salary: ₹12–20 LPA fixed CTC, based on experience.
•    Early-stage stock options (ESOPs).
•    Group health insurance: employee, spouse, children and parents.
•    Insurance: term-life and personal-accident cover.
•    Work environment: Challenging, stimulating, research-driven work solving rocket problems every day with a great team. We have a good time, and unlimited coffee.
